The U20’s opened their JP Flanagan Prem 2 campaign with a hard fought victory away to Dublin University thanks to two Paul McCullagh penalties and a third from Cal Connolly allied to a solid defensive performance returned a 7 – 9 win. Next up is another away fixture at Suttonians next Sunday.

Greystones ladies team were beaten by Wexford wanderers by 19-10. Wexford got an early try in the first half which was followed by a period where Greystones had the majority of possession and territory but could not get any points on the board. Wexford scored a second try against the run of play late in the first half. Greystones started the second half brightly and scored an early try scored by Sinead Flynn. This was followed by another try with all the  hard work done by Sinead Flynn who  released the ball to  put Leah O’Doherty over in the corner.  The game was tightly fought after that with Wexford scoring another try to deny Greystones a losing bonus point.

Greystones U17’s put on an exemplary performance against Ratoath away on Sunday in Group B of the Leinster league. Greystones totally dominated possession and played an offloading game at a frenetic pace that  had them 19 points up within the first 10 minutes. Greystones attack was relentless and Ratoath were not afforded any time to settle with the ball. Though the team conceded two tries these were against the run of play and the final scoreline of 72-12 reflected the dominance of the Greystones team in all aspects of play.
A good solid performance by all the squad who will face a different challenge against Naas at home next Sunday
