       Bobby Clancy

It is a great honour and privilege to welcome you all to Dr.Hickey Park as your club captain for 2015-2016 season. I’ve had some great memories since I joined this great club almost twelve seasons ago but undoubtedly this season will be one of the highlights when I look back in years to come.

As a squad last seasons main objective was to gain promotion, which we successfully achieved. However, the only sting in the tail was our defeat to Wanderers in the Leinster Shield final. This loss can only motivate us more to achieve more success this season.

I would like to thank last years captain, Simon Malone and the returning coaches Kevin Lewis, Warren O’Kelly and Hendrik Kruger on a fantastic season in charge. I would like to welcome David Kirk along with Joe Duffy who are coaching the under 20’s side this year. Together with the J1’s these two teams are the backbone of the senior squad. This is shown by the number of players who have made the step up in the last 2 seasons. I would also like to take this opportunity to wish all the junior teams and women's team the very best of luck for the coming season.

I congratulate Fintan O’Hagan on becoming the new President of GRFC I hope you have an enjoyable and successful season.

It is exciting times in the club at the moment with the new gym and refurbishment of the bar along with the further development of the pitches to come. This continuous work will make Greystones RFC the envy of clubs across the country. This would not have been possible without our generous sponsors and volunteers that work tirelessly behind the scenes.

A special thanks to all of the supporters who travel the length of the country to cheer us on. Your support is greatly appreciated and noticed by all of the players. Also, thank you to our physio, Cameron McKeever, team manager, Paul Lennon and John Winston who make sure everything runs smoothly on match days. To Eddie Lonergan and his bar staff who do such a great job.

I look forward to seeing you all over the coming season.
