After the disappointment last week up North Greystones bounced back in some style to dominate proceedings at Dr Hickey Park in a one sided affair against Ards RFC

We had plenty of tries scored with Stones going over nine times with no response from Ards.  Stones opened their account in the first 50 seconds having secured a scrum from the kick off Aaron Higgs found himself with a clear run to the line to score his first try of the afternoon.  Darragh Duggan was next to cross the line on eight minutes when the stones pack drove over the line. Andrew Kealy polished his kicking boots to convert the try from the touch line. Aaron Higgs was back in action again two minutes later with his second try and again converted by Andrew Kealy giving Stones a 19-0 lead after just ten minutes.

Andrew Kealy put himself on the try scoring sheet on the half hour with the fourth try of the day giving Stones the bonus point. Ronan Carroll added to the tally with two converted tries before half time giving a very impressive score of 38 – 0 to Stones.

Thinking they might get a break in the second half Ards were stunned when Ben Armstrong crossed the line to score another try in the first minute of play with Andrew Kealy again converting. It was completely out of sight for Ards now they could not break through the Stones defence or get near scoring opportunity. Ronan Carroll made it a hat-trick on the hour. Alan Depmsey secured the ninth try of the day for Stones. I would say it was much relief that Ards heard the final whistle in a day when the discovered the fortress of Dr. Hickey Park.
