Charlie Byrne then forced his way over to add another score for Greystones. St Brigids then scored after some fine approach play down the left hand touch line. Mike Hayes then added another score for Greystones working his way through the defence from the fringe of a ruck to score. St Brigids then replied with another try in the left-hand corner. From the restart Greystones moved upfield and Ollie Haydock sliced through the defence to score. Mike Hayes then added another fine try crossing on the blindside unopposed following a series of rucks. The scoring was completed when Ollie Haydock crossed the line after some quick handling by the backs.
Match 2
Played at St Brigids home ground in Cornelscourt and the home team established an early lead scoring 3 unanswered tries before Greystones woke up. Strong rucking and counter-rucking by the forwards saw Greystones reply when Harry Begley ran over from a short distance. This was quickly followed up by Ben Webster driving over for Greystones' second. A sniping run from scrum half Joe Phelan saw Greystones level the score 3 a piece, before St. Brigids re-established their lead with a further 2 tries before half time.
The second half was a case of picking up where the first had ended with St Brigids continuing to keep the scoreboard ticking over with 3 unanswered tries. Greystones' forwards again stepped up their play in the loose to allow Conor Doyle to notch up further two tries. Again St.Brigids' backline ran strongly to score 2 tries before Conor Doyle went over for a late consolation try for Greystones.
All in all, 2 enjoyable games with lots of tries and honours even.
