It’s a wonderful distinction to carry the title of Captain of Greystones Rugby Club and to be appointed for the second year is a tremendous privilege Besides the honour the award bestows, it’s also about hard work and commitment to the challenge of the new season.
We have quite a few new players joining the Seniors - culled from local schools and the locality together with exciting talent from abroad: all well trained and eager to make their mark. Their enthusiasm merging with the keenness and experience of our established players should provide a successful combination. Crowning it all we are in the enviable position of welcoming this season the coaching services of the accomplished Reggie Corrigan, who served Leinster and Ireland so well.
Executive and coaching staff, the on–the- scenes and behind-the scenes members are also vital parts of “Team Greystones “and together we have our sights set on a victorious campaign this season. Thanks must go to all involved for their long service and dedication to the club – most especially to Vincent Byrne, our recently retired club steward.
Every good wish reaches out to our President for the 2010/11 Rugby Season, Alan Keyes.
The support of our sponsors and advertisers is not only welcome but essential to the club and your support of their business would be greatly appreciated by all.
Your support on the terrace at the home and away matches is very much appreciated and your positive words after matches most encouraging. Our bar has had a makeover and we look forward to meeting you there after matches and at the many great functions held there.

One of our main objectives this season is the return to Div.1 of the AIL. This is well within our reach given the players enthusiasm, dedication to training and positive attitude. Being prepared is half the battle. Earlier this summer saw the players bring together heads, hearts and bodies to create important improvements to our gym, all with financial input from the Executive.
Best wishes are extended to Donall Gannon in his role as President for the 2009/10 season. The Executive and coaching staff have contributed to the growth in the quality of players, all of whom are most welcome and wished an enjoyable and successful season.
The Club welcomes the support of our sponsors and advertisers – very much appreciated in these straitened times – and in return would appreciate your support of their business or product in whatever way you can.
And last, but not least, where would we be without our supporters, family and friends? All generating excitement, inspiration and motivation – a great prop on match days!
