Dear Fellow Members and Guests,
I am delighted and honoured as President of Greystones RFC to welcome all our guests, visiting teams, officials and supporters to Dr. Hickey Park. I hope you enjoy all the warm hospitality our club has to offer.
This season we hope to return to winning ways and gain promotion back to Division 2A of the AIL. To our club captain Andrew Kealy and his squad, to Head Coach Kevin Lewis, his assistant coaches and management team under Paul Lennon, I extend my best wishes for the season.
To our Director of Rugby Barry Kealy, Youth Co-ordinator Paddy McCann, Women’s Coach and Manager Paul and Miriam Mahon, and to all our team captains, coaches, physios and players, from under sevens to Seniors, I would like to say a big thank you and wish you all an enjoyable and successful season.
Last season the club turned the corner off the pitch and is now on a much firmer financial footing. Thanks for this must go to out-going chairman Gary Nolan and our Treasurer Niall Savage. To our Club Secretary Anne Bowes and all our Executive Committee members, to Bar Manager Justin O’Reilly and to Groundsman Willie Byrne, a sincere thanks for all your tireless work.
What can I say about our loyal supporters who travel all over Ireland cheering on our teams? You have a great reputation throughout the land and I know this support is greatly appreciated by the players. I look forward to seeing you again on away trips this season.
Once again a major thank you is due to all our sponsors and in particular to our main sponsor Peter and Ross Doyle of Doyle Bloodstock Agents. Sponsors are the life-blood of the Club and your continued support is greatly appreciated. I would also like to thank those who advertise in our club program and on pitch-side hoardings, enter teams in our golf classic (thanks Tim), support club events and attend pre-match lunches.
Finally I would like to thank all our other volunteers. The workers, the unsung heroes. The team managers, bagmen and women, physios, dads and mums, the sub-committee members, the list goes on. The club cannot function without your selfless support; you make all the difference. You make Greystones RFC a community club.
I trust everyone will enjoy their visit to Dr Hickey Park, the home of Greystones RFC.
