The result for the first team may not have gone the way we hoped but the traveling support certainly made their voices heard at Navan last Saturday. Captain Eoin Marmion, Head Coach Danny Kenny and all the players and back up team wish to express their gratitude to everyone who traveled to the game to support Greystones first and second XV's, in particular the players of our U9's who led a guard of honour for the first team on to the pitch.

On the field tries by Matt O'Brien and Billy Ngawini along with two conversions and a penalty from Killian Marmion was not enough to overcome our hosts who prevailed to take the win 20-17 in the Energia AIL opening game.

In a double header the seconds fared much better running out convincing winners in their Metro League tie on a 35-5 scoreline thanks to a first half haul of 16 points from outhalf Cal Connolly and second half tries from Shane Marmion and a brace from James Quinlan.
